ABOUT

Lenka is a 4th-generation seamstress with a lifelong passion for fabric, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design.

She completed her formal training at the College of Fashion in Slovakia in 1998, following in the footsteps of the talented women in her family who passed down their skills and love for sewing through the generations.

In 2010, Lenka moved to England and soon after opened Lenka’s Alterations in the market town of Leominster, Herefordshire. Her goal was simple: to offer high-quality, reliable tailoring and alteration services to the local community, with the same care and attention to detail she grew up with.

As her reputation grew, so did the business. In 2012, she expanded the shop to include a range of natural fabrics, including linens, block prints, and extra-wide curtain materials, as well as a selection of handmade soft furnishings — from curtains and blinds to cushions and lampshades, all crafted in-house.

Lenka brings over two decades of experience, a deep understanding of fabrics, and a genuine love for her work to every project, whether it's altering a favourite garment or helping transform a customer’s living space.
